LWVM Kicks Off 90th Anniversary Celebration
The mission of the League, as a nonpartisan political organization, is to encourage informed and active participation in government. The League works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and impacting these policies through citizen education and advocacy.
Registration of voters is our primary mission. The League is very active in registering local citizens to vote. We have increased our certified field registrars from four to six in the last year. Registration of voters will resume again as soon as the weather cools a bit.
Our Voter Guide Committee published a one page quick comparison with the responses to one question asked of candidates in the primary election and four questions asked of candidates for the general election for 2009. The general public found both of the Voters Guides very helpful in their selection process for the three City Council positions available.
Meetings will be held at Mesa View Hospital from Sept. through May, beginning at 10 am.
